Our pasture raised pigs

Our Berkshire pigs are pasture raised without any chemicals. They are a leaner breed and they're darker complexion is better suited to our local climate. They are considered a 3* energy rating system according the farms star energy rating system. We supplement feed our pigs grain and seasonal farm produce like veggies/eggs/honey and send them through the olive grove during olive season. The rest of their feed comes from the pigs doing what they do best. Burrowing the ground feeding off plant roots and insects. Their paddocks consist of a diveristy of plants/grasses, canopy shelter of native shrubs/trees and of course their favourite past-time, sitting in muddy wallows.

The pigs intergrate well into the farms system, so long as they are managed carefully.  Due to their innate character for digging, they can be detrimental to the landscape. We ensure that our paddocks cater to the pigs instrinstic nature, provide ample space and rotate our pigs paddocks.
